כל כך חבל שהחומר שאספתי ימים ולילות לא הועבר ונשמר כמו שצריך -
בכל אופן הנה הודעה שלי מהעבר בנושא:

ELEVATION
> We call them Iranian High Flyers. A nice pigeon blood line
which is capable to raise high in sky and fly for a long time. But
how much they may go up in sky? What is the ultimate elevation in
general a pigeon or any birds may reach?
> The physiological structure of some sea birds gives them
the ability to rise up to 5km during migration season, but this high
altitude doesn't apply to other birds like pigeons as we concern.
The privilege of high altitude flight goes to those birds which have
the compatibility of breathing in lower pressure environment like
high elevation. Pigeons can't reach that high altitude as sea birds
go. That's why air plans usually fly higher than 5km as a safe travel
path where there are no birds to sucked in to the engine. However the
Coriolis Effect is another reason that airplanes should fly in high
elevation but that is whole another story. In fact the maximum
elevation the best high flyer pigeon may reach is 1200-1500 meter,
but because of small size of pigeons in sky, ground watchers think
that bird is in seventh heaven or they like to imagine like that
which gives them a good, fabulous feeling.
> As ground sky watcher to the path of our high flyer pigeons
in a clear sky, there is simple way to guess our birds' flight
altitude with naked eyes. As long as the wing beat of pigeons are
recognizable, they are flying in 50-500 meter range. Next, the wing
beats are unrecognizable but the birds are still visible, sometimes
like large points sometimes small, now they are in 500-1000 meter
range. Finally, the birds disappeared and we can't see them without
binocular, this is the highest range 1000-1500.
> In cloudy days the estimation of altitude is difficult
because the visibility is low. Don't misunderstand, our birds didn't
go beyond the clouds but the clouds descend in lower altitude and
cover our birds. In fact the three major families of clouds: Cumulus,
Stratus and Cirrus build in such an altitude that our pigeons can't
reach them, Cirrus above 6km, Cumulus 2-6km and Stratus below 2km.
(there are many exceptions like, Nimbostratus rainy clouds that
settled down on low elevation). However clouds may descend too much,
like kind of fog in lower altitude around 300-600 meters that our
birds may reach them.
> Let's finish this before it gets complicated. Enjoy your
pigeons' flight in any circumstances. Thank you, Arsho
